Course Details: Practice with purpose
Traditional Ashtanga Yoga is designed to purify the body and the mind, promoting peace, happiness and good health. To bear the true fruits of Ashtanga Yoga, the practitioner must practice with correct intention and discipline, under the guidance of experienced teachers. Ashtanga Yoga is dynamic form of meditation that involves the synchronization of the breath with movement (Vinyasa), focusing the gaze on specific points (dristhis), and engaging energetic locks within the body (bandhas). The combination of this 3 aspects is called Tristhana, and only after mastering all this can the Yogi begin to experience the more subtle and lasting effects of this practice.
During the three day workshop we will discuss these major aspects of the practice, and also discuss the benefits of an Ashtanga Yoga Lifestyle, including a yogic diet and daily habits of the practitioner (based on the 8 limbs of Patanjali).
The ultimate goal of Yoga is self-knowledge and awakening the spiritual potential that is dormant with all of us.
